Blissful winds sometimes carry into a storm.

Nathan Lake, 2021 – Author, Our Big Blue Pearl

Welcome to this, my very first post into the vastness of the internet. May the words you read, and the stirrings within your heart, lead you into revelation.

First, let me just point out that if you are looking for a spiritual guru, you have not found one. I have walked through the rushes and have bruised several shoots – never intentionally doing so. Finish reading this post and, within it, you’ll be given the direction to find the correct guru for you. As each person individually, like the flowers of a field reflect many colors through the spectrum of light, shine in different ways.

So what is this post about?

Let’s just call it what it is: a beacon. Or maybe a buoy. If it’s dark in your life right now, a beacon. If it’s bright, a buoy.

Let’s start by quoting some wise words. Something better than, “Don’t rub your eyes just after cutting a jalapeño pepper.” Wise words, but I was thinking something more like, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43:18-19.

This is a message given through Isaiah by God. If you don’t know who Isaiah is, that’s okay. He’s a proven prophet of the living God. Everything that he prophesied came true. Everything that was to transpire within its time has done so. There is still more to come. If you want to know more about that, read Isaiah.

So, the beacon, or the buoy, is pointing out something here and now. Do you “perceive” it?

Life. How do you define it? What is your “perception” of life?

Merriam-Webster has several definitions for life. Life

Breath of life? Life of the party? Livelihood? To take someone’s life? What are all of things pointing to?

To me, life is the spark within us. The expression, “Having a spark of life,” illustrates this. Not the breathing or beating heart, but the spirit of a person. Thoughts, beliefs, and morals. But this is only one aspect of life. Sure, I can dispute a point about cellular division, reproduction, and such, but to dwell on only one aspect of life without having a conversation about what life can be, or is to all the flowers of the field… Well, having an open mind here is a good thing. (Not that we’re speaking of brain surgery)

So, getting back to what God was telling us through Isaiah, if we break this down and really look at it, what is the message here?

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43:18-19.

People live, think, and do. You are “people” are you not? You live. You think. You do. Hear me. It’s you! God is telling you, and directly to you, the message.

Do you go to your friends to find out what you think? Don’t you have an opinion? Does someone else breath for you? Does someone else decide what is important to you?

The answer to the question about who is the best guru for you is simple. You are!

It doesn’t end there either. God has given some responsibilities to all of us. There are several responsibilities that encompass all of us, such as loving one another, and the one that this beacon, or buoy, is pointing to is this:

    Test every spirit!

This is required of you. I can point out exactly where it says that but you can look it up for yourself. (and you should)

To restate what is important here: you are you. You are not me. I am not you. I am me. You can’t think for me. I can’t think for you. We are fiercely loved of God.

So back to “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43:18-19.

He is speaking directly to you. He is asking you if you perceive it? Do you perceive it?
